Tillin' the Ground

This sign is posted on my mother-in-law's gate. I will roughly translate it for you:

We Want Here:
-NOT to buy anything
-NOT to give any money
-We don't want to change our Religion
-We are already insured
-Our Bills are paid
So-Goodbye!!

Just an insight how people in general are pretty set in their ways here. I mean, Wal-Mart didn't even survive, since people refused to change the way they shopped. But we know God has a plan for us here and we are just trying to put our foot in wherever we can. It's been fun and challenging so far.

We were walking the other day and all of the farmers were working on the fields around us until late at night (like past 11:00) because ‘Tis the season. We can’t wait to see what they planted, but we’re sure it’s going to be awesome! See – that’s kind of what we feel like here. We are just the farmers, planting everyday, God gets to water it and give the seeds the strength to grow, and we’re just the farmhands. We continue to keep you all in our prayers as well. We know that being here is no different than being back home and sharing the Gospel with your neighbor, or coworker. We are all commissioned to share the love of Christ, whether it is across the street, or ocean.

Spring has arrived, and everything is beautiful and exciting here. We are anticipating a visit this next week from our dear friends The Chambers’ (Chris and Stefani). We will be sightseeing a lot this next week, so stay tuned to new pictures!
